Do you have a thing for city halls? No? We do! At least regarding their stories and architecture. Trust us when we say that the city halls of Scandinavia's capitals are well worth a visit, no matter how brief. On our Copenhagen & City Hall Private Driving Tour, join your private guide and driver for a half-day excursion through the city centre of Copenhagen.
Starting with a scenic drive through the city, we'll see iconic sites like Tivoli Gardens, the Church of Our Saviour, The Citadel and Christiansborg Palace. At the King's winter residence, Amalienborg Palace, we'll see the Copenhagen Opera across the harbour and visit the nearby statue of The Little Mermaid (bring a camera!). Back on the road, we'll zig-zag our way through the city's history, culture and stories on our way to The Round Tower and Copenhagen City Hall.
Arriving at The Round Tower, we'll climb or, more so, walk a ramp, circling up to the top of the tower. We have a small number of stairs to climb before we come out of the stairway, and Copenhagen's skyline greets us. You'll probably recognise some of the places you've seen from the tower top, and if it's a clear day, you'll be able to see all the way to southern Sweden. Ask your guide to point out the next stop, Copenhagen City Hall, before climbing back down the tower and into your private vehicle.
Arriving at Copenhagen City Hall, explore the main hall inside, decorated with Danish flags and stories of Copenhagen's long history. We'll make sure to give Jens Olsen's Astronomical Clock a visit before heading outside to enjoy the City Hall's exterior.
Before you know it, the clock has struck, and it's time to drop you off back where we began our adventure, hopefully with some suggestions of things to do next in Copenhagen.
